Aha Naa Pellanta Review - Allari Naresh Movie

Aha Na Pellanta Telugu Movie Review: Allari Naresh is on a mission to do at least four to six films per year. He starts off this year with Aha Naa Pellanta which has few very good attractions to grab the audience attention. The title itself is legendary and the lethal combination of Naresh and Srihari coupled with good publicity, ANP caught many an eye prior to release. Is the movie worth the hype? Let’s check out in Aha Naa Pellanta Review…

Story:
Subramanyam (Allari Naresh) is a calm going software engineer who remains bachelor even after checking out 300 matches. After a bachelor party he wakes up along with Sanjana (Ritu Barmecha) in the same bed, having no clue about what happened the other night. Sanjana has three brothers Durga and co (Srihari, Subbaraju, Samrat) who are deadly rowdies. They come to know about Subramanyam spending a night with their sister and warn him to marry her ASAP. When Subramanyam is getting ready to marry her he comes to know about a big secret and says no to the marriage. But being timid and weaker to them in all aspects he couldn’t overcome them. What is that secret? How will Subramanyam get through the ‘forcibly fixed’ marriage? Is what follows.

Analysis:
First things first! Aha Naa Pellanta is copied from Korean comedy “Marrying the Mafia” which was later made into Hindi with few changes as “Welcome” starring Akshay Kumar. And wait, here is another addition to it. Srinu Vytla lifted few scenes and characters from Welcome in his movie King. Okay, now ANP is almost Xerox copied from the said Korean comedy by Veerabhadram.

The setup of this film is not new to Telugu film audience. Every character is seen and well known to us. They are just put into one film now. For example, in how many films did Srihari played brother to the heroine and of course with his fluent Telangana dialect? When was the last time Allari Naresh played a timid character? Brahmanandam getting married at forty plus age isn’t new to you, is it? All these clichés are put together by the debutante director to make this a formulaic comedy.

Despite all the clichés, Aha Naa Pellanta works at times due to the able star cast and their confident performances. Even though the script suffered few hiccups in the middle, director made sure that it ended on a hilarious note.

Performances:
Allari Naresh sleepwalks through his character. Srihari plays the Rowdy-Anna role at ease. Subbaraju and Samrat are good as his brothers. Ritu Barmecha neither has the glamorous looks nor does she possess the acting capabilities. Anita sizzled in a bikini. Brahmanandam is standard and better than his recent outings. Nagineedu is getting repetitive. Rest of the star cast did their part as per the script requirements.

Tehnicalities:
Dialogues by Sridhar are bad. He doesn’t have any fresh lines and simply follows the ‘rhyming’ trend blindly. Music by Raghu Kunche is passable. Subramanayam song stands out. Cinematography, Editing and rest of the key crafts gave their best to the film within the budget limitations.

Veerabhadram did a fair job with handling the film. He knows the basics of the filmmaking. But sadly, doesn’t have any novel ideas to watch out for him. He is just another director who can make a formulaic film within the budget. Even the story and screenplay are copied from Koran film. So it is hard to judge his writing capabilities. For a first timer, he did an okay job on a whole.

Plus Points:
- Allari Naresh – Srihari – Brahmanandam
- Comedic scenes towards the climax

Minus points:
- Lack of novelty
- Too much clichéd script orientation

Final Word: If you are looking for some fresh comedy, Aha Naa Pellanta doesn’t serve your order. If a routine comedy with few laughs could quench your thirst, go for it.
