Bharat Ane Nenu – Big Promise Bigger Hit

Release date : April 20, 2018
 Rating : 3.75/5
Starring : Mahesh Babu, Kiara Advani
Director : Koratala Siva
Producer : DVV Danayya
Music Director : Devi Sri Prasad
Cinematographer : Ravi K. Chandran
Editor : A. Sreekar Prasad

Bharath Ane Nenu is one film which has been eagerly awaited all over. This film marks the collaboration of Koratala Shiva and Mahesh Babu after the blockbuster hit Srimanthudu. Amid massive craze, this film has hit the screens today. Let’s see whether the film lives up to its expectations or not.
Story:
Bharath(Mahesh Babu), who graduates in the UK hears about the sudden death of his father(Sarath Kumar) who is the chief minister of the state. Leaving things behind, he rushes back to India. Upon his arrival, he is forced by his uncle(Prakash Raj) to fill his father’s shoes as the chief minister of the state. Bharath takes up this deadly challenge only to find out several loopholes in the system. Rest of the story is as to how Bharath operates in his own style as a CM and brings a good change in the society.

Plus Points:
The first thing that hits you right away in Bharath Ane Nenu is the scale and premise of the film. It has been quite some time that we have seen a political thriller which had a mainstream hero playing a CM. The manner in which the story unfolds by covering major social issues has been conceived in a spectacular manner.
Mahesh has given his career best performance which is truly award winning. The honesty, dedication and the command that Mahesh generates as CM takes the film to another level altogether. Mahesh not only looks super handsome as the young CM but also mouths terrific mass and political dialogues with aplomb.
Kiara Advani makes a staggering debut and fits her role perfectly. Not only does she look gorgeous but performance wise too, she has done a superb job. She is surely a star in the making and will go a long way in Tollywood. Seasoned actors, Prakash Raj and Rao Ramesh bring a lot of depth to the film with their terrific supporting act.
The interval bang is terrific and sets the tone for the second half in a stunning manner. The emotions showcased during the second half work well. Also, the manner in which certain key social issues like education, traffic and village administration have been showcased, looks quite good. Production values of the film are terrific and Devi’s background score makes things even more gripping. The film has enough mass elements in the second half which will make the fans quite happy.
Minus Points:

When compared to the first half the second half gets a tad slow during the end. The last ten minutes of the film is quite routine and predictable with nothing much great happening during this time.
The length of the film is also a tad long and all those who expect fun and comedy will get disappointed as the film is a serious political drama.
Technical Aspects:
DVV Danayya has gone all out for this film and every penny spent looks amazing on screen. Special mention should go to the assembly set which looks spectacular on screen. The way it has been lit gives a rousing effect to the proceedings. Camerawork by Thiru is too good as he has showcased the political set up in quite a realistic manner. The film looks quite rich in every frame and the manner in which the proceedings are showcased give an earthy feel to the film.
Devi Sri Prasad is a huge asset to the film. The way the theme song is composed and goes with the proceedings of the film speaks volumes of Devi’s talent. But more than his music, it is his background score which takes away the cake as it thrills you completely and keeps you hooked to the proceedings. Dialogues need a special mention and especially those written for Mahesh have a lot of value and are clap worthy. Mahesh’s look has been designed quite well.
Coming to the director Koratala Shiva, he always saves the best for Mahesh. Credit should completely go to him for penning a story like this and showcasing Mahesh in a never before seen manner. The way he handles the social issues and keeps all the mass elements intact for fans showcases his worth as a director. His grip on emotions and the way he shows Mahesh as the young CM looks quite convincing. One can easily say that there is no better director who can handle social subjects and once again Koratala proves his class with his film.
Verdict:
On the whole, Bharath Ane Nenu is a highly captivating political drama which clicks from the word go. Credit should go to Mahesh for not only accepting such a script but leading from the front with his career-best performance. Mahesh’s fans will have a blast as the film will do exceptionally well in both the domestic and overseas markets. If you ignore the slightly predictable nature of the film, Bharath Ane Nenu ends up as a terrific summer watch which will break many records at the box office. Must watch.

Krishnarjuna Yuddham

Release date : April 12, 2018
 Rating : 3.25/5
Starring : Nani, Anupama Parameswaran, Rukshar Dhillon
Director : Merlapaka Gandhi
Producers : Sahu Garapati, Harish Peddi
Music Director : Hiphop Tamizha
Cinematographer: Karthik Ghattamaneni
Editor : Satya G

Nani is going great guns in his career with back to back hits. Next in line is Krishnarjuna Yuddham which is directed by Merlapaka Gandhi. The film has released today on a massive scale and lets see how it turns out to be.
Story:-
Krishna(Nani) is a happy go lucky youth from Chittoor who falls in love with Riya(Ruksar Mir). He spends quality time with her and right when the couple accepts each other’s love, Riya goes missing. On the other hand, somewhere in Prague, Krishna’s look alike, Arjun(Nani) is a pop singer who tries to woo Subba Lakshmi(Anupama). Upset with Arjun’s behaviour Subba Lakshmi leaves to India but she too goes missing as soon as she lands in Hyderabad. Rest of the story is as to how Krishna and Arjun cross each other’s paths and find their respective lovers.
Plus Points:
Krishnarjuna Yuddham is a film which showcases Nani as a complete mass hero. He is exceptional as Krishna and gives an impressive performance. The way he spoke the Chittoor slang and extracts comedy through his character is very good. The way his love story is narrated and the manner in which Nani performs all his love scenes with Ruksar is quite interesting.
Ruksar Mir looks decent and also performs well in her role. Mahesh Vitta, who played Nani’s sidekick elevates good comedy with his dialogues. His conversations with Nani have been showcased in a hilarious note.
The first half of the film is quite good with Nani’s two parallel tracks being showcased in a decent manner. Brahmaji’s comedy is good in the first half and evokes decent laughs. Songs are yet another plus point in the film as they sound well and have also been shot nicely.
Minus Points:
Some interesting romantic scenes should have been added for Nani and Anupama’s track to make things better. After a fun-filled first half, the film completely changes track and becomes a kidnap drama.

Even though the mass fights look quite impressive on Nani, they have been stretched a bit too much during the climax. A song that comes at a crunch situation in the second half could have been avoided completely.
Also, yet another major drawback of the film is that there is no strong villain. A solid actor and some scenes with both the Nani’s fighting him out could have made a lot of difference.
Technical Aspects:
Production values of the film are quite good as the village set up has been showcased in a wonderful manner. The camerawork is okay as Prague and its surroundings are not utilized properly. Music by Hip Hop Thamiza is pretty good and his background score also helps the film in a big way. Dialogues written in the Chittoor slang are quite nice and give a lot of depth to Nani’s role. Editing is strictly okay as many elevation scenes for Nani could have been slightly trimmed.
Coming to the director Gandhi, he has done a decent job with the film. He makes the first half quite interesting as his screenplay of narrating the two stories is impressive. But things change from the second half as the entertaining film becomes a predictable kidnap drama with not many praiseworthy scenes. There is no proper villain and conflict point during this time as things become easy for Nani who end things on a simple note.
Verdict:
On the whole, Krishnarjuna Yuddham is an out and out Nani film from start to end. Nani’s stardom is in full flow as he becomes this mass hero who entertains you with his powerful performance. Impressive first half and good comedy are basic assets of this film. But the weak second half and a lengthy runtime put breaks on the free flow of the film. As it is the holiday season and keeping Nani’s superb craze in mind, this film should satisfy those who are looking for a typical popcorn entertainer this holiday season.

Gulebakavali Review

Release date : April 6, 2018
 Rating : 2.25/5
Starring : Prabhu Deva, Hansika, Revathy
Director : S. Kalyan Kumar
Producer : Malkapuram Shivakumar
Music Director : Vivek Siva and Mervin Solomon
Cinematographer: R. S. Anandakumar
Editor : Vijay Velkutty

After a long gap, Prabhu Deva is back as a solo hero with this week’s release Gulebakavali. The film which also stars Revathy and Hansika in lead roles has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.
Story:-
The film is all about a treasure which is hidden behind a temple called Gulebakavali. A small-time thief called Badri(Prabhu Deva) is appointed to rob the treasure. Excited with this, he starts his journey and in the course of time, he meets Hansika, Revathi and a few others who form a group to rob the treasure. Rest of the story is as to how this group sticks together and manage to get hold of the precious treasure.
Plus Points:
Prabhu Deva still has the moves and capability to hold the film as a solo hero. He looks decent and is top class in his dances. His comedy quotient has been tapped quite nicely in the film. Revati is the surprise package in the film as she plays the con woman with ease. The way she goes about playing tricks at regular intervals and generates comedy is quite good.
Hansika plays her part quite sincerely and looks good in the songs. She has not been used well in the film as she has more of a supporting role. Some comedy by Yogi Babu and Rahman clicks here and there. Some thrills regarding the treasure hunt have been showcased well. The second half is a tad better than the first.
Minus Points:
One the biggest drawbacks of the film is the over the top comedy. The fun in the proceedings and dialogues is lost in translation and everything looks so loud. Also, there is a heavy dose of Tamil flavor in the film which might not go well with the Telugu audience.
After the first engaging ten minutes, the film becomes a bit silly with unnecessary scenes of Prabhu Deva and his introduction taking center stage. The way the comedy is generated during this time is quite irritating.
Yet another major drawback of the film is it lacks direction. As the film is a treasure hunt, there should have been some twists to keep the audience engaged but sadly, the film falls off track every now and then boring the audience to no extent.

Technical Aspects:
Music of the film is a big letdown as none of the songs make an impact. The background score is so loud that you can get a headache right away. Production values of the film are pretty good and so was the camerawork which showcases the treasure hunt in a decent manner. Editing is below par as some of the scenes in the first half could have been edited out right away. Coming to the director Kalyaan, he has done an average job with the film. Even after having a thrilling script, he failed to narrate the film in an interesting manner and adds irritating humor which bores the audience.
Verdict:
On the whole, Gulebakavali is an over the top and silly heist drama which has nothing much to rave about. Prabhu Deva’s comedy timing and some thrills in the second half are basic assets. The film falls flat after the first ten minutes and continues to sidetrack from the main plot every now and then. Lack of Telugu nativity also makes this film a boring watch this weekend. Watch it when it comes on TV.

Inthalo Ennenni Vinthalo :Review

Release date : April 6, 2018
 Rating : 2.25/5
Starring : Nandu, Pooja Ramachandran, Sowmya Venugopal
Director : Varikooti Varaprasad
Producers : M Srikanth Reddy, E. Ram Mohan H Rao
Music Director : Yajamanya
Cinematographer: S. Murali Mohan Reddy
Screenplay: Chota K. Naidu
Editor : Varikooti Varaprasad

Actor Nandu’s latest film, Inthalo Ennenni Vinthalo has hit the theaters today. Let us check what this family drama has in store for us.
Story:
Vishnu(Nandu) is a polite guy who is very emotional about family relations. He falls in love with Vandana(Soumya Venugopal) but his love story gets disrupted by Vandana’s father as he finds out that Vishnu has cheated him in the past.
Meanwhile, Nandu meets Thaara(Pooja Ramachandra) who is neck-deep into problems. Vishnu takes it upon himself to save Thaara and gets into even deeper troubles. How will Vishnu save Thaara? Why did Vandana’s father hate Vishnu? Will Vishnu be able to win back his love? To know the answers, you need to watch the film on the big screen.
Plus Points:
Nandu has evolved as an actor and comes up with a good performance. His maturity while emoting sentimental scenes add depth to certain scenes. The actor tries to keep things simple and stands as the backbone of the film.
Pooja Ramachandra gets a meaty role and she does well in key episodes. Soumya Venugopal has a very limited presence and supports the male lead well.
The movie runs at a good pace in the initial stages. The director handles the first 10-15 minutes well and manages to rake up excitement. The interval bang looks decent and sets a good platform for the second half. The way things unfold towards the interval plot has been executed well.
Gagan Vihari looks apt as the villain. He does well in a few key scenes in the movie and impresses with his natural acting.

Minus Points:
The movie’s pace drops drastically after the initial 10-15 minutes. Not even a single scene connects with the actual storyline. The way hero and heroine fall in love is a total letdown as it lacks the intensity that is required to keep the viewers engaged.
The director tries to bring in comedy with a half-baked story and fails big time. The pointless comedy scenes further add to the misery of the viewers. Surprisingly, even the emotional scenes look very artificial and over usage of sentimental dialogues play the culprit here.
Things take a dismal turn towards the climax as the director simply tries to end the movie on a happy note. Lack of connectivity, poor narration, and pointless comedy have been stuffed to fulfill the runtime.
Technical Aspects:
The director, Varaprasad Varakooti manages to extract the maximum from the lead cast. Here comes the bad part, he tries to provide an ample dose of comedy, emotions and family drama but fails to deliver anything even near to that.
The camera department did a fine job as a few scenes portray the hard work from the men behind the camera. The songs in the movie are just above mediocre. Sadly, the background score does not sync with the proceedings. Proper care should have been taken towards editing as a few scenes that run in the parallel track look a bit confusing.
Verdict:
On the whole, Inthalo Ennenni Vinthalo is an ill-paced family drama that has only a few good moments here and there. Good performances from the lead actors help this movie to an extent. With that being said, badly executed emotions, poor comedy, and illogical narration make this film a dull fare at the box office this weekend. Watch it only if you have nothing else to do.

Satya Gang :Review

Release date : April 6, 2018
 Rating : 2/5
Starring : Sathvik Eshvar, Akshita
Director : Prabhas Nimmala
Producer : Mahesh Khanna
Music Director : Prabhas Nimmala
Cinematographer: A. Vijay Kumar
Editor : Nandamuri Hari

Continuing the trend of low budget films, yet another movie which has hit the screens today is Satya Gang. Let’s see how it is.
Story:
Raj(Satvik) and Satya are two orphans who run the Satya Garage. As time passes by, Raj falls in love with Akki whereas Satya loves Sanju. This is also the time when a dreaded gang in the city creates ruckus all over by committing a lot of murders. The twist in the tale arises when these murder cases fall on both Satya and Raj. Who is this gang? Why are they committing these crimes? and how will Raj and Satya come out as innocents? That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points:
The basic twist in the tale has been narrated quite decently and this is the time the film creates a lot of interest for the audience. Two songs that have been shot in the foreign locations look quite good on screen.
The solution regarding how orphans can find new parents looks quite interesting and has been showcased on a positive note. After a long gap, senior hero Suman gets a good role of an IAS officer. He does a very good job and brings a lot of depth to the proceedings.

Minus Points:
One of the biggest drawbacks of the film is that the main lead looks quite inexperienced. Apart from Suman, Jeeva, and Shafi, rest of the cast does not elevate the proceedings with their acting. Some known actors would have made things better in the film.
Even though the concept prepared by the director is good, he only narrates it during the last 5 minutes of the film. Rest of the proceedings just wander here and there. The film lacks continuity factor as many scenes are cut abruptly.
Too many genres are touched in this film making the proceedings go haywire. What starts as a crime thriller, becomes a love story and then later ends as a social message film which is quite silly.

Technical Aspects:
Music by JB and Prabhas is pretty disappointing. Camerawork by Vijay Kumar is just about okay but the editing work is quite disappointing as the film suffers from continuity factor. Production values of the film are decent and so was the production design. Coming to the director Prabhas, he has done a disappointing job with the film. Just to showcase a small social message, he weaved a story with multiple genres and confused the audience.
Verdict:
On the whole, Satya Gang is a disappointing attempt at making a multi-layered film. The film does not have an interesting point and the lack of continuity and impressive performances disturb the flow of the film. Apart from the basic twist and the last five minutes, this film has nothing much to offer and can be left alone this weekend.

Review : Chal Mohan Ranga Review

Release date : April 5, 2018
Starring : Nithiin, Megha Akash, Rao Ramesh, Prabhas Sreenu
Director : Krishna Chaitanya
Producers : Sudhakar Reddy, Pawan alyan, Trivikram Srinivas
Music Director : S. Thaman
Cinematographer: Natarajan Subramaniam
Screenplay: Krishna Chaitanya
Editor : S R Sekhar

Talented hero Nithiin, who disappointed with his last outing LIE, has come up with yet another romantic drama called Chal Mohan Ranga. Directed by Krishna Chaitanya, the romantic drama has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.
Story:
Mohan Ranga(Nithin) gets separated from his childhood crush Megha(Mega Akash)all of a sudden. He finds out that she is in the US and tries hard to reach her. After a point in time, he somehow manages to enter the US and meets her there. He gets close to her and falls in love with her eventually.
Even Megha has feelings for Mohan but as both of them decide to confront each other, Megha leaves him for good and comes back to India. Rest of the story is as to how Mohan lands in India and wins his love all over again.
Plus Points:
Nithin does a great job in his role of Mohan Ranga. His performance as the helpless guy and the way he generates good comedy through it has come out quite well. Nithin has picked up quite well in the emotional department and carries the film on his shoulders completely.
Megha Akash is cute in her role and does what is required of her. She is especially good in the first half as the funny scenes between her and Nithin have come out quite well.
Dialogues need a special mention as the conversation between the lead pair and the way fun is generated through this looks good. The film has good comedy at regular intervals. Some episodes featuring Rao Ramesh, Narra and Nithin have been executed well and keep things light at times in both the halves.

Minus:
Though the film has decent first half with some good comedy scenes, the lack of depth in the second part is a minus point. The love story is also ages old and has nothing new to offer.
A simple point is dragged for too long by some unnecessary scenes which sidetrack the film. The chemistry between the lead pair is also not up to the mark. The film runs on a flat note during the second part with not much happening during this time.
Lissy does not have much to do and looks confused in the film. Those who expect a solid romantic track between the lead pair will get disappointed as there is no major conflict point in the romance and because of this, the director has concentrated on comedy more.
Technical Aspects:
Music by Thaman is a major plus point as his soulful tunes and impressive background score carries the film’s mood quite nicely. Production values for this limited budget film are superb as all the US and Indian locations have been shot exceptionally well by the cameraman Natarajan. Editing is decent and so was the production design.
Coming to the director Krishna Chaitanya, he starts off the film on a good note through the first half but later his narration lacks the buzz as the story has nothing much in it with not many engaging twists. He makes things better by adding some light-hearted moments here and there but as a complete package, there is not much feel in the love story.
Verdict :
On the whole, Chal Moan Ranga is yet another routine romantic drama which has some good moments here and there. Lovely songs and decent episodes of comedy keep the audience engaged. Storywise, there is nothing much to look forward as this is a film where you need to go with the flow of the proceedings which are kept light-hearted. If you ignore the above-said things and want to watch a simple time pass flick this weekend, this film can be given a shot. But keep your expectations in check.
